Vision Rehabilitation In Neurologicial Populations

Vision dysfunction is a common but often overlooked consequence of neurological injury that can impact recovery and level of function. This course is for allied health professionals who work with individual with neurological injuries such as stroke and acquired brain injury. It will cover visual function including anatomy, processing, cranial nerves, visual inattention, Visual Midline Shift Syndrome and Post Trauma Vision System. It will cover assessment of vision and vestibular dysfunction, the role of allied health and optometry in management visual dysfunction. Treatment ideas will be covered for issues with oculomotor dysfunction, perceptual issues, vestibular dysfunction, balance and the use of prisms.

The course will be a combination of lecture, videos, demonstration and some hands on practice.  Participants will have access to assessment and treatment resources in order to help them incorporate the treatment strategies immediately into practice.
